Tent London – The IA Review
September 19th – 22nd
Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane.
Over the weekend, our Live Iconic team were lucky enough to showcase their range at one of London’s most popular design shows, ‘Tent London’. For those of you who have never attended, the show offers a great platform for new and existing brands to raise brand awareness amongst trade, corporate and the general public. TENT is also internationally renowned and therefore receives visitors from all over the world.
Housed at The Old Truman Brewery in trendy East London, the event provides an ideal showcase. Many labels that started small when Tent was first launched 8 years ago are now established and continue to grow - A great testament for the show.
Upon entry to The Old Truman Brewery we were greeted by The Super Brands exhibition – in particular the café designed by rising star AfroditiKrassa. This café was impossible to miss – loosely based on a catwalk theme, the café also illustrated their impressive range of tiles and pendant lighting. Also exhibiting within Super Brands was Jake Phipps, a designer that also stood out at Clerkenwell Design Week for us. Our very own Live Iconic were also part of Super Brands a welcome addition confirming to the Super Brand philosophy of ‘Form and Function’.

Live Iconic was situated right on the edge of the Super Brands exhibition, alongside the ever-present 100% Norway. Featuring as part of the London Design Festival for the 11th year running, the look and feel of 100% Norway drew inspiration from the countries untamed natural landscape. The exhibition is an opportunity to nurture young Norwegian designers, showing mock-up’s and early prototypes right through to the finished article.

Next up was the weird and wonderful ‘Tokyo Designers Week’ – a highlight at Milan 2014 and it truly was a fascinating journey. Adopting the theme ‘Tokyo Imagine’ the exhibition was very involving allowing the public to interact through mobile apps and interactive gaming experiences. This exhibition would not have felt out of place at the Barbican’s Digital Revolution Show.

With so much to see over the four days there truly was something for everyone. With 280 companies from 29 countries exhibiting it was an international coming-together of creative minds – it’s difficult to think that this much inspiration could be housed under one roof but The Old Truman Brewery was that roof.
As tent continues to grow more and more popular it’s international status only grows stronger.
See you next year at Tent 2015
